Sparking Creativity Through Design
Finding creative classes in New York felt like a scavenger hunt. Juggling multiple websites and schedules was frustrating, so I envisioned a better solution – Try Me. This mobile website, designed and built entirely in Figma, streamlines the exploration and booking of creative classes.
Try Me served as my personal Figma bootcamp. As a complete beginner, I dove headfirst into the world of UI/UX design, using this project as my creative playground. It's been an amazing learning experience! I've gained a solid foundational understanding of Figma's capabilities and the importance of user-centered design principles.
This project is just the beginning. I'm excited to keep expanding Try Me, adding new features and refining the user experience based on ongoing user research. This journey has ignited a passion for UI/UX design, and I'm eager to keep learning and growing in this field.
Mastering Figma was a central goal, but my ambitions extended further. Try Me became a platform to not only learn the tool but also experiment with building a cohesive brand identity. I crafted a logo, defined a color palette that reflects creativity and exploration, and ensured the writing style throughout the website conveys a user-friendly and approachable feel. This focus on building a complete brand experience solidified my understanding of how design goes beyond aesthetics.
The project went beyond aesthetics. I conceptualized how studios would offer classes, considering potential payment methods (though not implemented yet) and the reservation system. By exploring these functionalities, I gained valuable experience in the intricate web of UI/UX design. This process went beyond the visual elements to consider the underlying functionalities that bring the user journey to life.
